Breaking News: Pilots safe after F-16 fighter jet crashes in Arizona

An F-16 fighter jet has crashed near Luke Air Force Base in suburban Phoenix, but authorities say both pilots ejected safely.

Officials at Luke say the jet went down just before 7 p.m. Wednesday in a desert area about three miles west of the base.

They say both pilots suffered minor injuries. Their names weren't immediately released.
Base officials say there was no immediate word on what caused the crash.

Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, west of Phoenix, is the world's largest F-16 training base.
