Evalonia C Banks; A Celebrated award winning Actress/producer, winner of the Nollywood
African Film Critics (NAFCA, 2011 Best Actress People’s Choice award)” Best of
Africa (US Africa Diaspora Breakthrough Actress 2012)” Best Movie Producer of
the Year 2012( NPA Entertainment Award)”.
Eva is a young woman of diverse
talents and skills; she is based in Houston, Texas and runs The Eva Banks
Production Company.
Eva was born in 1970s in the South Eastern part of Nigeria,
She is the last in a family of five. Eva’s High School years was marked by her
proactive Leadership roles as the Vise President of the debating &
dramatic society, showing early signs of her natural talent to act.
Eva’s dream
story is about a young woman who arrived at the shores of America in the summer
of 2004 in search of her educational quest and a passion to excel in the Nigerian
Movie Industry (Nollywood).
Eva received her first degree is in Economics at the Lagos
State University in 2000. She
received an Associate Degree In Arts with high honor from the HCC Houston Texas. In 2011, she bagged an MBA in Healthcare Management from the American
Intercontinental University (AIU) in Houston. She was inducted to a life time
membership honor into Phi-Theta Kappa an elite group of extraordinary students.
A onetime University beauty Pageant & Lolo,
awarded by the Lagos State University cultural Association, She won the most
beautiful face of Igbo Community in campus. “Eva is a consummate artiste,
innovative organizer, a team worker and one of the hottest & prominent
movie stars of Nollywood USA”.
Her performances in the movies Caged, The
Governors Gift, One life to live, Pastors Wife, Royal Dilemma, Caught in the
Web, Black Roses, Lost In a Moment, She Devil, Blind-Folded, Family Secret,
Stolen Fruit, Eye of word, The vet is ice, etc. have been commended as engaging
and remarkable.
She is currently working on Two Powerful movies. Titled – ‘Clear
Evidence’ (detective movie) and For the love of money; also Two TV Series Titled
‘Love and Betrayal & House of Hope.
Her first work as a Producer and
movie writer, in the movie Caught in the Web, received Nominations at the 2011 NAFCA,
an ‘African Oscar Award’. Her Production Company Shoot and produces some diaspora
events for the Nigerian Television Authority International. Eva is a Member of Nollywood
Producers Guild of America (NPG), Executive member Nollywood Entertainment
Network Houston, the Dementia Care Professionals of America and the executive director Model Gallery International; (MGImodels). She is a Mother of two
brilliant and lovely children Sandra and Daniel.
She says in her own words “My best is yet to
come in movies and acting. I encourage the younger generation to perfect their acting skills”.
Evidently, Eva is determined to combine her theatrical skills
with some business savvy. She loves movies and its rewards!
