Taka Tanni Opens Up In An Interview With Chris Onyeka (MUST READ)

  • Taka Tanni: (Laughs) The one and only Sir Chris Onyeka, Big Respect for all you are doing for the African Entertainment Industry.
Chris Onyeka Blog:  (Laughs) Thanks, I am humbled? 
  • Taka Tanni: (Laughs) What's up with Afriwood Film Academy Awards?
     Chris Onyeka Blog: (Laughs) Taka you will not kill me. Are you here to interview me or to be interviewed?
  • Taka Tanni: (Laughs) Well I want to know and i believe people will like to know too.
    Chris Onyeka Blog: Well, i am seeing Afriwood Awards just like you' re seeing it, but according to their mission statement. I believe it will be one the biggest award ceremony that will ever happen to African Film Industry in Diaspora, because their main focus is on Africa as a whole! I believe the organization has a good plan for the Industry.
  • Taka Tanni: Wow! sounds interesting. Looking forward to that.
Chris Onyeka Blog: Me too, How have you been? After the last movie i did with you and Emeka Ike "Infamous Deception" boom you disappeared. I bet your hands must be full.
  • Takka Tanni: (Laughs)  I have been pretty busy. There has been some life struggles but I thank God for life.
Chris Onyeka Blog: That's great, Listen, I must admit, I am extremely happy to have you. You look gorgeous as always. (Laughs)
  • Taka Tanni: (Laughs) Thanks, you are not bad looking yourself.
Chris Onyeka Blog: (Laughs) Please don't flatter me. Listen, let us jump right on it. (laughs) When did you start taking Acting?
  • Taka Tanni: I started acting with church plays as a child, and then I moved to the States. Started with Takoh Abraham with Kamwood with a Talkshow(kamwood girls) and a some Kamwood movies.
Chris Onyeka Blog: What drew you to characters?
  • Taka Tanni: For me , uhh, every part of acting is a challenge because every script is different, so, getting into character is like switching faces.    There are some scripts I relate to my charaxter and it makes it easy, u know?
Chris Onyeka Blog: What does Acting mean to you?
  • Taka Tanni: I am very passionate about acting and take it very seriously. I love it.
Chris Onyeka Blog: Have you produced any films?
  • Taka Tanni: Yes, I have produced 3 movies so far, including,    “Deep Sea Diving” and the other two are still in post production. sit tight. (Laughs).
Chris Onyeka Blog:(Laughs) where do get your inspirations?
  • Taka Tanni:   I am inspired by everything worth learning a lesson from.
Chris Onyeka Blog: Do you remember your first day on set?
  • Taka Tanni:  OMG.., my first day on set was nerve racking, whew. (laughs)
Chris Onyeka Blog: (laughs) I can relate. Do you have advice for anyone wanting to start dance?
  • Taka Tanni:Well, now.. if you want to start dance, I advice you to polish your dancing shoes and rehearse every day. 
Chris Onyeka Blog: What is your favorite current TV show?
  • Taka TanniMy current TV Show is “ Real Housewives of Atlanta”. There you have these real successful women whose husbands/boyfriends/baby daddies in their lives are not afraid to let them shine. And they doing it.
Chris Onyeka Blog: What is your favorite movie and why?
  • Taka Tanni: I love this movie; …”My father’s wish”. It’s a great family movie I did produced by Princess Manka in stores. I played lead like most of my movies Including, of course your film "Infamous Deception" I played alongside Emeka Ike. Great stories and a very tough set if I may say.
Chris Onyeka Blog: What was the last movie you did?
  • Taka Tanni: The last projects I did was sitcoms called “Family Secrets” with Mohamed Conte productions.
Chris Onyeka Blog: What do you like to do in your free time?
  • Taka Tanni: I like to travel. I want to explore America and I’ve already covered most states..(Laughs) it’s a passion.
Chris Onyeka Blog: What is your favorite restaurant?
  • Taka Tanni: My favorite restaurant is my kitchen.  I love to cook. (laughs)
Chris Onyeka Blog: Do you have any pets?
  • Taka Tanni:  I don’t have any life pets, but teddy bears..yes. (laughs)
Chris Onyeka Blog: What other thing do you when you are not filming?
  • Taka Tanni: When i'm not filming, I write. I also sing. I like Zouk but people want me to play some makossa or Dombolo. I'm working on that. Stay tune.
Chris Onyeka Blog: What charity is closest to your heart?
  • Taka Tanni: I have always wanted to give back. Being a part of the fight of Domestic violence is my pet-pive.
Chris Onyeka Blog:Do you have a favorite quote or saying that is always on your mind? 
  • Taka Tanni: I don’t have a quote but a saying from my mom, “Do good and follow your dreams without reservation and know God will elevating you”. I carry that always.
Chris Onyeka Blog: Earlier, I talk about you disappearing from the Industry for over a year. I will like to stress that a little bit more, where have you been?
  • Taka Tanni: (Silence .... Tears stream down) I was really sick that was why i was away, but God is not done with me yet. He told me to go back and finish my purpose on earth. To God be all the glory! I am here today not by my might, but by his Almighty. I will forever praise and worship him. (more tears of Joy).
Chris Onyeka Blog: (wipe tears) He is worthy my sister, to him be all the glory. He is Able. We are all missed you and we are happy you are back. How is the recovery processes?
  • Taka Tanni: My recovery is like a ferry, form one place to the other, You know what I mean?. One thing is, I look around and I feel like a century just passed by (tears)…but  God is worthy. I thank and love my family so so very much for being there for me, my friends and well wishers. They are my rock, my biggest critics but also my highest supports. To God be all the glory.
Chris Onyeka Blog: What advice do you have for people that take life for granted?
  • Taka Tanni: With what I have been through, I will advice everyone to cherish life, ask for forgiveness, accept Christ, go closer to God and smile each day and most of all, dream big and hand it all to the Almighty, he will always take control.
Chris Onyeka Blog: Do you have any regrets? If yes, Why?
  • Taka Tanni: I regret never used to pray more, but now I know better. Christ has taken over my life and my career. He has given a second chance to life and I will for ever rejoice and be glad in Him. He is Worthy!
