"Pound of Flesh" is one damn outstanding thriller, written and directed by Don Okolo and produced by Nkem DenChukwu. The film does all the things I can't stand in bad movies, and does them in excellent ways. It's like a rebuke to all the lousy action movie which have been banging pots and pans together in our skulls. It winds your clock tight and the alarm doesn't go off for 120 minutes.
"Pound of Flesh" includes relatively credible classy settings, generous array of characters with strong aspirations and interesting ways of delivering. A-list rated actors like, Merlissa Determined, Curtis Von, Perez Egbi, Joe Grisaffi, JP DeStefano, Alexis Anderson, Eva Cotton, Ashley Starks, Carl Payne and Roxy Rebel.
Don Okolo is known for raising the bar with each film and "Pound of Flesh" is not an exception. The twists and turns of the story, the multiple instances of bracing humor and consistent tension, help the cast bring this big-scale thriller to the place it clearly wants to be. Well worth seeing.
