Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) CEO Howard Schultz yesterday expressed his disappointment with the current administration and announced new measures the company will be taking to help those it believes are in need.

According to the press release addressed to the company's partners, Starbucks is in direct contact with employees impacted by Trump's executive order banning immigrants from certain Muslim dominated countries and is doing everything in its power to support them.

Schultz wrote, "We are living in an unprecedented time, one in which we are witness to the conscience of our country, and the promise of the American Dream, being called into question. These uncertain times call for different measures and communication tools than we have used in the past. Kevin and I are going to accelerate our commitment to communicating with you more frequently, including leveraging new technology platforms moving forward."

The coffee giant has vowed to hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years in the 75 countries in which it operates.

It will also support the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration program which is threatened under the new administration. Starbucks is backing senators who are fighting for the preservation of the program, reimbursing the biennial fees paid by employees in the program, and offering DACA-related services at its Opportunity Youth hiring fairs.

As Trump plans to punish Mexico for not securing its borders and the trade deficit, Starbucks says it will continue to invest in the market. The country has 7,000 employees in Mexico working at 600 stores in 60 cities across the country. It also sources its coffee from Mexico and plans to donate 4 million coffee trees this year to support poor families.

If Obamacare is repealed, Starbucks employees will also have the option of getting insurance through the company within 30 days of losing coverage.
