American Based Accountant and Nigerian Filmmaker Chris Onyeka voices out on the approval of Child Marriage by the Senate at the ongoing Constitution Amendment in Nigeria.
The Certified Public Accountant described child marriage as a violation of human rights, adding that the convention on the rights of the child states that a child is defined as anyone under the age of 18 years of age and a child that age is not capable of giving her valid consent to enter into a marriage. He includes that Under age marriages are considered to be forced marriages. It constitute a child abuse and should be dealt with as a child protection issue.
Statistically, child brides have a higher risk of becoming a victim of domestic violence, sexual abuse, murder, poor health, early death, and lack of educational opportunities lead the list of problems attributed to child marriage. In addition, in developing countries, the leading cause of death for young girls between the ages of 15 and 18 is early pregnancy.
Why would Law makers that are suppose to serve and protect deliberate on regulating such barbaric and destructive Law among its citizens? Laws should state that betrothal and marriage of a child shall have legal litigation not otherwise.
Nigeria Rise Up and speak against this despicable act called Under Age Marriage Act. God Bless Nigeria "The Giant of Africa"

I have been following this story for a few days now by way of my friend Bukky Ebun and other airway media sources out here....I happen to view this clip by Stella D. and I am so sick by what these men who call themselves leaders and law makers are planning on doing to this already crime ridden country....I want the SENATORS OF NIGERIA to close their eyes and get the visual effects of a grown man SCREWING THE SHIT OUT OF THEIR 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS, SISTERS & NIECES only then will they realize how barbaric shameful and disgusting they are..... Are woman and children still without rights in these countries...Don't get me wrong I am aware that not all MEN are alike or think alike however there is enough to out weigh the good.....OK YOU ACTORS AND PUBLIC FIGURES singer's etc. put down your fancy clothes & shoes stop going every two weeks to these awards show and put off making your movie making business for something WORTHWHILE and fight for the children, your children of NIGERIA...This is nothing but a bunch of pedophiles who sit in their offices and think of the next way to degrade women only in this case they are not even mature as yet don't even know how to fully clean themselves as 13 year old.
