Singer Iyke Joenez Jr. Talks About His Life And Career


Iyke Joenez, known as Joenez Jr is a Nigerian American R&B/Afro Pop recordng artist, songwriter, and music producer. He started performing and has opened music concert shows for big names in the music industry in Nigeria while he was in secondary school. He released his first single in 1998, and debut album under Beaton Records Owerri Imo State of Nigeria in 2003. His first album was released in his tender age and sold about a million copies independently in the eastern part of Nigeria where the album was released.

His elementary, secondary and college education was in Owerri Imo State, Aba Abia State Nigeria and USA. He is the founder and president of The Academy of African Music & Arts, presenters of The All Africa Music Awards AAMA. He is the son of late legendary musician Joenez Snr of the blessed memory. Being from a music family, root and legacy, he has adopted his father’s name and honored it through his music. Currently working with Skyelab Music group in NewYork city for his new music single (Make The World A Better place) which will be released to the public Dec 2013. 

For Joenez Jr, New York City has been an exciting new experience and through his music he connects to all parts of the world.Commenting on his new single, Joenez Jr. said;“I decided to record this track as a single to start with and my intention is to send a message to people all over the world to let them know that we can make the world a better place.” This song was written by Joenez Jr himself, arranged and produced by Arty Skye.Influenced by his father’s talent, Joenez Jr has been singing since he was a young child. Originally, he had no interest in pursuing a career in music yet this all changed when he met Felix Feladey Odey. Felday became a mentor for him and helped him recognize his talent and love for music.
