"12 Years A Slave" was named Best Picture - Drama at the 71st annual Golden Globes awards. Steve McQueen's film, based on the 1853 memoir by Solomon Northup, a free man who was kidnapped into slavery in 1841, was the most-nominated drama of the night with seven total nods. The Best Picture win was its sole award of the night.
