A truck drove into a crowd at Bastille Day ceremony, a major holiday in France, killing 80 people and leaving many hospitalized. Victims had been watching fireworks on the beach and some were walking down a promenade, either back home or to their cars, when a truck ploughed into the crowds on the nearby Promenade des Anglais. The driver was killed by French police.
French President Francois Hollande has called it an act of terror and declared State of Emergency.
